The Department has excellent faculty and well-equipped facilities. The major objectives of the Department are:

1. To engage in agriculture and biotechnology-related research;
2. To train and educate students as professionals in biotechnology with the abilities to conduct independent research;
3. To improve agricultural- or biological-related technologies in line with the needs of industries; and
4. To promote students the abilities of developing biotechnology-related products.
